Alice Smith Estes, 94, of Louisiana, died at 2:10 p.m. March 23, 1998, at the
Smith-Barr Nursing Home in Louisiana.
Funeral services for Mrs. Estes will be at 11 a.m. today at the Collier Funeral
Home in Louisiana. Burial will be at the Eolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Estes was born Aug. 6, 1903, in Eolia to Harry and Bettie Akers Basye.
She was married to Dorsey Estes. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sisters, Iris Lewis of Louisiana and Marie Claiborne of St.
Louis; one niece, Betty Steiniger of Ballwin; and one nephew, James Gilmore of
the State of Washington.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Velma Gilmore and Kathryn Reed.
Mrs. Estes had been employed as a seamstress for several years. She was a
Methodist by faith.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services today at the funeral home.

BOWLING GREEN U Iris Lewis Hudson, 91, of Louisiana, died March 10,
2000, at Smith Barr Manor.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Kirks Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jim
Williams will officiate. Burial will be at the Eolia Cemetery in Eolia.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hudson was born Oct. 2, 1908, in Eolia to Harry and Bettie Akers Basye.
She was married to Sam Lewis. He preceded her in death. She was later married
to Robert Hudson. He also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one niece, Betty Steinger of Ballwin; and a special friend, Jerry
McDannold of Bowling Green.
