Charles Wayne Zinn departed life June 25, 1877. services were held at D.W. Newcomers and Sons, Overland Park Chapel. Burial was June 28, 1977 at 10:30 a.m. Dr Alfred D Hager-ashbury of the United Methodist Church officiated. Interment was in the Mount Moriah Cemetery. Pall bearers included Dean Hatfield, Duane Bush, Dan Heimen, Al Willeford, Don Bishop and Jim Morgan.
Wayne was medically retirred from federal service, the FAA where he served as an investigator. He suffered a heart attack, undoubtedly through the long hours and intensity of an investigation related to the PATCO incident involving the air traffic controllers. A veteran of WWII where he served as a criminal investigator, he was assigned to the India-Burma theatre of operations.
