"See court document in Lewis notes for proof the Nelson was a son of Lewis and Mary Bethel Mason. This younger Nelson appears on the Stafford Co. tax lists for the first time in 1803. He is also on the list through 1806, and is in the Stafford census, 1910 (Falmouth) 1830 and 1840.

From Jerrilyn Eby: "In 1830 and 1831 Nelson was surveyor of the road 'from Spotted Tavern to the Fauquier Line.' That meant he was responsible for maintaining the section of road between the tavern and Cropp's Mill at the ford on Deep Run."
His children are "iffy." The two girls are probably right, but the court document which names Lewis' children and their descendants actually says "William or Robert" and says "they went to the west."

Mason Corbin along with Benjamin Corbin, Champ Corbin, James Mason, Nelson Mason and Charles Humphries all served with the same company led by Captain Elijah Harding of the 45 Virginia Militia Stafford, Virginia, Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Samuel H. Peyton. They served for 28 days from 7/28/1814 to 8/18/1814.
